 Oriental Chicken
 1 cup apple cider  2 teaspoons sesame oil
 1/2 cup soy sauce  1/4 cup sugar
 1/2 cup vegetable oil  2 teaspoons ground ginger
 1 teaspoon minced garlic  l broiler-fryer chicken (2 to 3 pounds), quartered
In a small saucepan, combine all ingredients, except chicken. Simmer over medium heat 5 to 8 minutes or until sugar is dissolved: cool slightly. Place chicken in shallow glass dish. Pour marinade over chicken: cover and refrigerate 4 or more hours. Drain chicken; reserve marinade. Grill chicken over medium heat until done, basting often with marinade.


 Teriyaki Chicken


 1/3 cup soy sauce  2 tablespoons sugar
 1/2 cup dry sherry  2 cloves garlic, minced
 1/4 cup vegetable oil  1 tablespoon grated fresh ginger
 1 teaspoon sesame oil 1 frying chicken, about 3 1/2 lb cut into serving pieces


Mix together the soy sauce, sherry, oils, sugar, garlic and ginger. Place the chicken in a large plastic food storage bag and pour in the soy mixture. Message the bag to distribute the marinade. Refrigerate for at least 2 hours, or all day, turning and massaging the bag occasionally.Grill over medium heat, turning frequently, 30-35 minutes. During the last 10 minutes of cooking, brush the chicken two or three times with the reserved marinade.
